Between the winter weather and my arthritic knees and back, I haven't been getting out to take photos as often as I would like, so that has given me time to bring some things up to date on my website, as well as time to browse through old photos. I find that not all my photos that I had originally liked end up standing the test of time, but I do come across a few that I still like. This was shot on November 1, 2003, with my first DSLR, the Canon EOS 10D. I had taken a drive out in the countryside looking for interesting farm structures, landscapes, etc. and hadn't found much that really inspired me, so I headed for home. As I passed this stand of trees I was struck by the arrangement off the trees, the light and the mood as I passed by. I drove on a little distance, then decided to turn around and take some photos. After eleven years, I still like the resulting shot.
